Everything You Need Right on Your Doorstep

The Fürstenried West district is an attractive residential area located in the southwest of Munich, at the intersection of the city and the surrounding region. Part of District 19, Fürstenried includes the neighborhoods of Fürstenried East, Fürstenried West, Maxhof, as well as the Kreuzhof and Neuforstenried estates. With a total population of around 96,700 in the district, Fürstenried has grown into a popular and vibrant residential area, offering its residents a high quality of life with abundant green spaces and strong infrastructure.
Something for everyone by walking distance: those who enjoy peaceful walks can visit the Waldfriedhof cemetery to the northeast, while outdoor enthusiasts and families with children will find plenty of room to cycle, hike, or play in the nearby Forstenrieder Park nature reserve. In the summer, the area offers refreshing spots such as the Isar rafting area, the Maria Einsiedel natural outdoor pool, and the Forstenrieder Park leisure pool. For sports enthusiasts, there are tennis courts, sports fields, and inviting beer gardens to enjoy. Nature lovers can easily reach Lake Starnberg in about 15 minutes by car or the foothills of the Alps in just 45 minutes.
In terms of amenities, you’ll find everything right on your doorstep: various shopping options, public institutions, the ASB senior center on Luganoweg, a school center offering all types of schools, and numerous cultural and recreational activities. The district is also well-connected by public transport and is conveniently located near the A95 freeway, making it easy to travel in and out of the city.

Education Starts Here

We offer daycare centers with over 350 spots for young children, as well as primary, secondary, and intermediate schools, along with a nearby grammar school—all within walking distance. Universities are also easily accessible by subway. Fürstenried West is an excellently connected location for children, teenagers, and young adults, providing a seamless educational experience right on your doorstep.

There’s Plenty to Do

Inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s famous quote, “Why wander far afield when the good is so close?” – this sentiment perfectly describes the local sports and leisure opportunities in the FÜRstenried West Quarter. A wide variety of sports clubs are located directly in and around the neighborhood.
There are also many easily accessible recreational destinations from Munich: Lake Starnberg, Alpine foothills, and the Alps. Germany’s fifth-largest lake invites investors to swim, row, or sale and is equally popular with divers and kite surfers. At certain times of the year, water skiing is also possible here. Hikers and cyclists will find many scenic routes throughout the Alpine foothills, ideal for staying fit in the fresh air. In winter, ski and snowboard enthusiasts especially benefit from being just a short trip away from countless alpine slopes.

Always Well Supplied

At Schweizer Platz and in the nearby surroundings, you’ll find numerous spots for your daily shopping needs: several supermarkets, a natural food store, and a bakery – as well as ATMs and a specialist bicycle shop. Health care is also well covered here. Several medical practices and a pharmacy are located around the square, which is also home to the “Fürstenried West” subway station.
The keyword “Switzerland” is fitting here: many of the street names in the neighborhood are inspired by towns, municipalities, or cantons in our neighboring country – such as Appenzellerstrasse, Bellinzonastrasse, Graubündenerstrasse, and Zugerstrasse.
This makes orientation easier for new residents of the FÜRstenried West Quarter.
