Mountains of ideas
If you hear someone in your neighborhood say: “I live in Tödi!”, it’s highly likely that it’s not a mountain cave dweller from Switzerland, but one of your neighbors.
But one thing at a time!
With the FÜRstenried West district development, the neighborhood is gradually transforming – and constantly showing new facets of what life will soon look like here.
To bring the concepts of real estate developers and neighborhood planners to life, experts from the communications industry are regularly called in. In the case of FÜRstenried West, this is us, the marketing agency Counterpart Group from Cologne.
As creatives, we are often entrusted with a wide variety of tasks: from websites and corporate designs to posters, information boards and the design of the cargo bikes in the neighborhood.
Naming the buildings in FÜRstenried West was a particularly exciting task that we really enjoyed.
After intensive brainstorming sessions, we finally came up with the idea of naming the buildings after Swiss mountains.
As the streets in the residential area are named after Swiss cantons – making it easier for residents to find their way around later on – this approach was the most appealing.
Added to this is the fact that the buildings in the district are of different heights – another fitting analogy to the “mountains” theme.
As a green oasis on the outskirts of Munich, we see FÜRstenried West as a “bridge” between urban life in the metropolis of Munich and nature.
You will soon find out what your building will be called in the future.
If you live in Graubündener Strasse, for example, it could be “Bellavista” or “Älplihorn” …
