Energy-efficient modernisation: Making existing buildings fit for the future

The first renovations of existing buildings without the addition of extra storeys begin. While individual flats have already been modernised in recent years, entire buildings are now being comprehensively modernised for the first time.

All the houses in the neighbourhood date back to the Munich housing campaign of 1969-1972 and are now getting a bit outdated. The upcoming renovation will modernise them to the latest energy standards. In addition to sustainable façade insulation (ETICS) and the renovation of the roof surfaces with photovoltaic systems, the wiring and electrical installations will also be modernised. A digital infrastructure concept will also improve living comfort and security. A particular focus is on making the construction process as pleasant as possible for the residents. The use of serial methods speeds up the work so that disruption is minimised.

The aim is to bring the entire portfolio up to KfW 55 standard in the long term and thus noticeably reduce energy consumption – to the benefit of everyone.
