Volunteering in the Neighborhood: Jilan Organizes Group Dinners

Jilan volunteers in her neighborhood and organizes a community dinner about every two months. In recognition of her commitment, she receives a rent discount.

The idea grew out of the neighborhood center’s previous activities. Many residents meet regularly and would like more opportunities for personal interaction. At the group dinners, participants can bring dishes they’ve cooked themselves. This creates a buffet featuring dishes from different cultural backgrounds.
